Description Vinca minor 'Atropurpurea' (creeping myrtle) bears showy, faded purple, fragrant and repeat-blooming flowers during early spring to mid-summer. This herbaceous perennial is spreading in form and has deep green foliage that is showy, glossy, medium textured and evergreen.
Typical Uses Accent, alpine or rock garden, border, container, edging, ground cover, foundation, mass planting and woodland.
Special Characteristics It is worthy to note that Vinca minor 'Atropurpurea' tolerates Black Walnut, drought and moderate foot traffic, and has a natural resistance to deer and rabbits.
Cautions Where conditions are favourable, Vinca minor 'Atropurpurea' (creeping myrtle) can be invasive and may require maintenance to keep it under control.
