Description The cactus Sempervivum 'Black Velvet' (hen and chicks) bears showy, light pink and fragrant blossoms during late spring to early summer. This plant is rosette in form and has showy, matte, coarse textured and evergreen foliage that is greyish green and dark red in colour.
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, border, container and edging.
Special Characteristics Butterflies are attracted to Sempervivum 'Black Velvet' . Sempervivum 'Black Velvet' is tolerant of drought.
