Description The herbaceous perennial Lamium maculatum 'Red Nancy' (creeping lamium) bears showy and faded purple flowers during late spring to mid-summer. The showy matte foliage is striped, faded green and pale yellow in colour, medium in texture and evergreen.
Typical Uses Accent, alpine or rock garden, border, container, edging, ground cover, hanging basket, mass planting and woodland.
Special Characteristics Lamium maculatum 'Red Nancy' tolerates drought and light foot traffic, and is noted for being naturally resistant to deer and rabbits.
Cautions The growth rate of Lamium maculatum 'Red Nancy' (creeping lamium) is fast and you should plan for this in your garden design and layout. Depending upon your local conditions, Lamium maculatum 'Red Nancy' (creeping lamium) may be invasive. Self-sowing, this plant can spread broadly and randomly where conditions are ideal for the seeds to germinate. However, this can be a benefit if you plan to use this plant in naturalizations.
