Description Glechoma hederacea (ground ivy) bears showy, bright blue and repeat-blooming flowers during mid summer to mid autumn. This herbaceous perennial is low trailing in form and has medium green foliage that is medium textured and fragrant. The stems are fragrant.
Typical Uses Container, ground cover, hanging basket and wild flower.
Cautions The growth rate of Glechoma hederacea (ground ivy) is very fast and you should plan for this in your garden design and layout. Self-sowing, this plant can spread broadly and randomly where conditions are ideal for the seeds to germinate. However, this can be a benefit if you plan to use this plant in naturalizations.
