Fritillaria meleagris (checkered lily) bears showy, white and fragrant blossoms during early spring to mid-spring. This "bulb, corm or tuber" is clump forming and has greyish green foliage that is glossy and fine textured.

Alpine or rock garden, border, cut flowers and wild flower.
Cautions
Depending upon your local conditions, Fritillaria meleagris (checkered lily) may be invasive. Self-sowing, this plant can spread broadly and randomly where conditions are ideal for the seeds to germinate. However, this can be a benefit if you plan to use this plant in naturalizations.
