Description Festuca rubra bears medium green blooms during early summer to late summer. This ornamental grass is mat forming and has deep green foliage that is matte and fine textured.
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, border, edging, ground cover and lawn.
Special Characteristics Birds are attracted to Festuca rubra .
Cautions Depending upon your local conditions, Festuca rubra may be invasive. Self-sowing, this plant can spread broadly and randomly where conditions are ideal for the seeds to germinate. However, this can be a benefit if you plan to use this plant in naturalizations.
