Description The herbaceous perennial Epimedium x rubrum (bishop's hat) bears showy and greyish red flowers during mid spring. The showy foliage is dark green in colour.
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, border, cut flowers, edging, ground cover, naturalization and woodland.
Special Characteristics Epimedium x rubrum tolerates drought, and is noted for being naturally resistant to deer and rabbits.
Cautions Be advised that Epimedium x rubrum (bishop's hat) may be invasive where conditions are favourable. In such cases it will require maintenance to keep it under control.
