Description Cytisus x praecox (Scotch broom) bears showy, bright yellow and fragrant flowers during early spring to mid-summer. This shrub is rounded in form and has medium green foliage that is matte, medium textured and evergreen. The bark is smooth in texture.
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, border, container, cut flowers, hedge and foundation.
Cautions With its fast growth rate, Cytisus x praecox (Scotch broom) will reach its mature size quickly. Keep this in mind when planning the layout of your garden. Reaching maturity quickly can be a benefit if you want your garden to look more established sooner.
