Description Crocus vernus 'Purpureus Grandiflorus' (Spring crocus) bears showy and greyish purple blooms during mid spring. This "bulb, corm or tuber" has striped and bi-coloured greyish green and pale lime foliage.
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, cut flowers, ground cover, lawn, mass planting and woodland.
Cautions Where conditions are favourable, Crocus vernus 'Purpureus Grandiflorus' (Spring crocus) can be invasive and may require maintenance to keep it under control.
