Description Corylus avellana 'Contorta' (corkscrew hazel) bears showy and greyish yellow flowers during mid-spring to early spring. This deciduous shrub is a thicket in form and has medium green foliage that is matte and coarse textured. The bark is light brown and smooth in texture.
