Description The broadleaf evergreen Buxus microphylla var. japonica 'Winter Gem' (Japanese boxwood) bears medium green and fragrant blossoms during late spring. The showy glossy foliage is dark green in colour, fine in texture and evergreen. Buxus microphylla var. japonica 'Winter Gem' (Japanese boxwood) has smooth bark.
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, container, edging, hedge, foundation and topiary.
Special Characteristics This plant has a natural ability to resist deer and rabbits, and it is tolerant of pollution.
