Description The herbaceous perennial Brunnera macrophylla (heartleaf brunnera) bears showy and pale blue blossoms during mid-spring to early summer. This plant is clump forming and has showy, matte and coarse textured foliage that is dark green in colour.
Typical Uses Accent, alpine or rock garden, bedding plant, border, container, cut flowers, edging, ground cover, mass planting and woodland.
Special Characteristics Brunnera macrophylla is noted for being naturally resistant to deer and rabbits.
Cautions Where conditions are favourable, Brunnera macrophylla (heartleaf brunnera) can be invasive and may require maintenance to keep it under control. This plant is self-sowing and may spread broadly and randomly.
