Description The herbaceous perennial Bergenia cordifolia (elephant's ears) produces showy, pink and fragrant blossoms during early spring to late spring. This plant is clump forming and has showy, glossy, bold textured and evergreen foliage that is greyish green in colour.
Typical Uses Accent, alpine or rock garden, bedding plant, border, container, cut flowers, edging, ground cover, mass planting and woodland.
Special Characteristics This plant has a natural ability to resist deer and rabbits. In autumn, Bergenia cordifolia is alight with fall colour.
Cautions Where conditions are favourable, Bergenia cordifolia (elephant's ears) can be invasive and may require maintenance to keep it under control.
