Description The shrub Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea 'Crimson Pygmy' (purpleleaf Japanese barberry) bears bright yellow blossoms during mid-spring to late spring. This plant is rounded in form and has showy, glossy and medium textured foliage that is dark red and medium orange in colour. The bark is smooth in texture. Showy fruit are produced by Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea 'Crimson Pygmy' (purpleleaf Japanese barberry).
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, border, container, edging, hedge and foundation.
