Description The herbaceous perennial Aster puniceus (glossy-leaved aster) bears showy and faded fuchsia blossoms during late summer to early fall. The foliage is greyish green in colour.
Typical Uses Bedding plant, cut flowers, naturalization and wild flower.
Special Characteristics Aster puniceus has a natural resistance to rabbits. This herbaceous perennial attracts butterflies to your garden.
Cautions Bees and wasps are attracted to Aster puniceus (glossy-leaved aster) so be careful when you are working around the plant. Also allow some buffer space around the plant in your garden design for walkways or living space in your garden. Where conditions are favourable, Aster puniceus (glossy-leaved aster) can be invasive and may require maintenance to keep it under control.
