Description Aster laevis (smooth aster) bears showy and mauve blooms during early autumn to mid-fall. This herbaceous perennial has greyish green foliage.
Typical Uses Border, cut flowers, mass planting, naturalization, wild flower and woods edge.
Special Characteristics Butterflies are attracted to Aster laevis . Aster laevis is tolerant of drought.
Cautions Be aware that bees and wasps are attracted to this herbaceous perennial. Depending upon your local conditions, Aster laevis (smooth aster) may be invasive.
