Description Aster ericoides (heath aster) bears showy and white flowers during late summer to mid-fall. This herbaceous perennial is clump forming and has greyish green foliage that is matte and fine textured.
Typical Uses Accent, border, container, cut flowers, mass planting and wild flower.
Special Characteristics Butterflies are attracted to Aster ericoides . This plant has a natural ability to resist rabbits, and it is tolerant of drought.
Cautions Be advised that Aster ericoides (heath aster) may be invasive where conditions are favourable. In such cases it will require maintenance to keep it under control. This plant is self-sowing, and without intervention may spread broadly and randomly.
