Description The deciduous shrub Aronia x prunifolia (purple-fruited chokeberry) bears showy and white blooms during late spring. The foliage is dark green in colour. Aronia x prunifolia (purple-fruited chokeberry) yields showy and greyish magenta fruit. This plant has greyish magenta bark.
Typical Uses Bog, border, hedge, mass planting, naturalization, waterfront and woodland.
Special Characteristics Birds are attracted to Aronia x prunifolia . In autumn, Aronia x prunifolia is alight with fall colour.
Cautions Where conditions are favourable, Aronia x prunifolia (purple-fruited chokeberry) can be invasive and may require maintenance to keep it under control.
