Description The broadleaf evergreen Ardisia japonica 'Variegata' (marlberry) bears light pink blossoms during mid summer. This plant is a thicket in form and has showy, glossy, medium textured and evergreen foliage that is variegated greyish green and pale yellow in colour. The bark is smooth in texture. Showy fruit are produced by Ardisia japonica 'Variegata' (marlberry).
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, border, container, edging, ground cover, foundation and topiary.
Special Characteristics Birds are attracted to Ardisia japonica 'Variegata' .
Cautions This plant is self-sowing, and without intervention may spread broadly and randomly.
