Description The herbaceous perennial Alpinia zerumbet (shell ginger) is repeat-blooming and bears showy, striped and bi-coloured pastel yellow and medium red and fragrant blossoms during mid-spring to mid-summer. The glossy foliage is greyish lime in colour, bold in texture, aromatic and evergreen. Alpinia zerumbet (shell ginger) has stems that are fragrant.
