Description The tree Alnus glutinosa (black alder) produces faded orange blossoms during early spring. This plant is pyramidal in form and has glossy and medium textured foliage that is greyish green in colour. The bark is fissured in texture.
Typical Uses Bog, shade and screening.
Special Characteristics Alnus glutinosa is tolerant of drought, wet sites, compacted soil and pollution. In the winter, Alnus glutinosa provides winter interest.
