Description The herbaceous perennial Ajuga pyramidalis bears showy, greyish blue and fragrant blossoms during late spring to early summer. The showy matte foliage is deep green in colour, medium in texture and semi-evergreen.
Typical Uses Alpine or rock garden, border, container, edging and ground cover.
Special Characteristics Ajuga pyramidalis is tolerant of compacted soil.
Cautions With its fast growth rate, Ajuga pyramidalis will reach its mature size quickly. Keep this in mind when planning the layout of your garden. Reaching maturity quickly can be a benefit if you want your garden to look more established sooner. Be advised that Ajuga pyramidalis may be invasive where conditions are favourable. In such cases it will require maintenance to keep it under control.
